Orange, County seat in Orange County, Texas, United States.

Orange is a city in Orange County, Texas, located along the Sabine River near the Louisiana border. The town grew around its river port and remains an industrial center in the region.

The settlement was first called Green's Bluff and later Madison before being renamed Orange in 1858. The new name was chosen to avoid confusion with Madisonville, another town in Texas.

The Frances Ann Lutcher Theater accommodates 1,450 people and draws 30,000 visitors annually for theatrical productions, musical concerts, and performing arts events.

A local alert system notifies residents about hurricanes and other emergencies, especially during the season from June through November. The town sits in a flat coastal area that can experience flooding during tropical storms.

The Shangri La Botanical Gardens hold more than 300 plant species, including many native to the coastal region. A nature center with exhibits helps visitors learn about the local flora.
