Claiborne County

Claiborne County is an administrative area in Mississippi situated between the Mississippi River to the west and the Big Black River to the north. The region includes several communities and is characterized by farmland, forests, and rural settlements.

The county was named in the early 1800s after William Claiborne, the second governor of the Mississippi Territory. The area developed as part of the early settlement of the Mississippi Valley.
