Florewood State Park

Florewood State Park is a state park located along the western edge of Greenwood, featuring a lake for fishing and natural areas for recreation. The grounds sit near U.S. Highway 82 and offer access to outdoor activities throughout the property.

The park was founded in 1973 when the Moor family donated their property to Mississippi for creating a living historical plantation site. The project aimed to document and preserve the ways of life connected to plantation culture in the region.

The park draws interest for its role as a filming location for the movie 'The Duel', which brought attention to the area. Visitors can experience how this space has become part of the region's entertainment history.
