AT&T City Center, Office skyscraper in Birmingham, Alabama.
AT&T City Center is a 30-story office building located at the intersection of 19th Street North and 6th Avenue North in downtown Birmingham. The tower houses corporate offices and commercial space throughout its floors.
The building was constructed in 1972 as the South Central Bell Building and has served as a cornerstone of downtown development. Major renovation work in the 1990s transformed the property and led to its rebranding through several corporate name changes.
The building achieved recognition on the National Register of Historic Places in 2020, reflecting its importance in Birmingham's commercial development throughout the decades.
A six-level parking structure is available for visitors and tenants. The central location at a major intersection makes it easy to access from different parts of downtown Birmingham.
The tower is being transformed into a mixed-use development that will include residential apartments in its upper floors. This conversion brings residential living to the heart of downtown, blending office and apartment spaces in one building.
