Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta Birmingham Branch, Federal Reserve branch building in downtown Birmingham, United States

The marble and limestone Federal Reserve building at 1801 Fifth Avenue North features Colonial Revival and Art Deco architectural elements across 104,000 square feet.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta Birmingham Branch, constructed in 1926 by architect A. J. Krebs, received National Register of Historic Places status in 2003.

The building hosted art exhibitions in 2002, including geometric light sculptures by Stephen Hendee as part of the Birmingham Museum of Art program.

Following a 20 million dollar renovation in 2016, the building now houses multiple tenants including Hand Arendall law firm and Urban Cookhouse restaurant.

The construction encountered challenges from an underground stream beneath downtown Birmingham, requiring continuous water pumping during the building process.
