The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta Birmingham Branch built its headquarters at 1801 Fifth Avenue North in 1926, designed by the Birmingham firm Warren, Knight & Davis in a style blending Greek Classicism and Art Deco. A five-story addition was appended in 1958. The branch vacated the building in 2000 and now operates from 524 Liberty Pkwy in Liberty Park.

The Birmingham branch opened on August 1, 1918, in leased space in the Jefferson County Bank Building, among the earliest branches of the Sixth Federal Reserve District. Its purpose-built headquarters at 1801 Fifth Avenue North was completed in 1926, designed by the Birmingham firm Warren, Knight & Davis. A five-story addition followed in 1958, and the branch moved to 524 Liberty Pkwy in 2000. The former building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.
