Talladega is a city in Talladega County, Alabama, located about 55 miles (90 kilometers) east of Birmingham. The city spreads across gently rolling terrain and combines residential neighborhoods with commercial areas along main roads.
The settlement emerged in the early 19th century in an area between Creek and Cherokee territories. The city developed into a regional center for agriculture after the Civil War and later for motorsports.
