The Dimitri Sensaud de Lavaud Museum occupies a 19th-century mansion built by Italian immigrant Antonio Agu for banker Giovanni Bricola, showing northern Italian architectural features and marble details. The building stands on Avenida dos Autonomistas and preserves original construction materials including Riga pine wood and Carrara marble throughout.

In 1910, engineer Dimitri Sensaud de Lavaud conducted Latin America's first flight from this location, flying a self-constructed aircraft named São Paulo. This event marked a milestone in the region's early aviation history.
