Mumbuluma Falls, Natural waterfall system near Mansa, Zambia

Mumbuluma Falls is a waterfall system with two successive cascades, each dropping roughly 5 to 10 meters (16 to 33 feet) into clear pools. Each section creates its own plunge pool at the base, offering two distinct water environments to explore.

The waterfall system was designated as a national monument by Zambia's Ministry of Tourism. This recognition highlighted its importance as a natural and geographical site for the country.

Local residents use the lower pools for swimming and diving from the rocks as a regular activity. This shows how the waterfalls serve as an important gathering place in daily community life.

Reaching the site involves driving roughly 32 kilometers north from Mansa, then continuing on an unpaved road where local guidance is beneficial. Bring comfortable shoes and swimwear, as exploring the pools and wading in the water are part of the visit.

The lower waterfall creates a notably deeper pool compared to the shallower plunge pool of the upper section. This difference in water depth allows visitors to experience contrasting environments for swimming and water play.
