Mount Aberdeen National Park

Mount Aberdeen National Park spans 2,943 hectares of land, featuring granite formations with Mount Aberdeen reaching an elevation of 901 meters and Highlander's Bonnet at 624 meters.

The park combines two sections: Mount Aberdeen, dedicated in 1952 covering 1840 hectares, and Highlanders Bonnet, established in 1967 with 1370 hectares of protected land.

The Queensland Department of National Parks manages this protected area, maintaining its natural ecosystems and monitoring populations of eastern grey kangaroos, wallaroos, and koalas.

The national park lacks public access roads and facilities, requiring special arrangements and permits for entry through the Queensland Department of National Parks.

The summit of Mount Aberdeen contains the region's only tropical cloud forest, accompanied by an exceptional red gum-snow grass community found nowhere else in Queensland.
