Downtown Disney

Downtown Disney is a large outdoor shopping and entertainment district in Anaheim featuring stores, restaurants, and performance venues. These areas are linked by pedestrian pathways and open plazas where visitors can move freely between different sections.

The center opened in 2001 as part of a major expansion around the Disneyland Resort. It was built to add shopping and dining options beyond the theme park gates.

Musicians and performers entertain visitors throughout the district, and the dining options reflect California's food traditions mixed with cuisines from around the world.

The district is open daily with free admission, and parking validation is available at most shops and restaurants. Walking between different areas is easy and comfortable on the level pedestrian paths.

At Marceline's Confectionery, visitors can watch through glass windows as candy makers craft sweets by hand throughout the day. This hands-on demonstration gives a glimpse into traditional candy-making that few other stores in the area offer.
