Indiana Jones Adventure is a motion-based ride tucked inside a full-scale temple replica in Adventureland. Vehicles carry guests through rooms with fire bursts, crawling snakes, and skull decorations along narrow passages.
The attraction opened at Disneyland in 1995 and later received an adapted version at Tokyo DisneySea in 2001. It represented a leap in ride engineering with vehicles controlled by onboard computers.
The attraction combines motifs from mythology and folklore across several continents with a story rooted in adventure cinema. Visitors encounter symbols and statues evoking ancient cultures and cursed treasure, all presented through a pulp-fiction style.
Guests must be at least 117 centimeters (46 inches) tall to board. The ride lasts around three minutes with sudden jolts, dark rooms, and sharp turns.
Each vehicle takes one of three routes through the temple, selected by an onboard computer. Guests see different scenes depending on which path their vehicle takes, making each ride feel different.
