Fiesta Americana Hacienda San Antonio El Puente, hotel in Xochitepec, Mexico
Fiesta Americana Hacienda San Antonio El Puente is a hotel housed in a historic manor dating to the late 1500s, set within expansive grounds featuring gardens. The property contains 151 rooms, two heated pools, a restaurant called La Molienda, several bars, and event spaces, where original hacienda architecture and decor blend with modern comfort.
The estate was founded in 1592 when land grants were issued to the Escobar family. In 1643 it received a license to operate as a trapiche for crushing sugarcane into sugar and alcohol, eventually becoming one of the region's largest sugar mills over the following centuries.
The name references an old bridge that once supplied water to the estate during its sugar production era. Visitors today can walk through spaces that reflect this industrial heritage, where the layout and remaining structures tell the story of generations who lived and worked there.
The hotel is located about ten minutes from Cuernavaca and is easy to reach. Rooms are clean and comfortable with soft beds, and guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi, easy parking, and the option to bring pets, with helpful and welcoming staff available throughout.
The estate was the first in the region to have electric power, supplied by a generator housed inside its impressive aqueduct. Since 1956 it has served as a filming location for movies and television series, including the production 'Los Gavilanes' with Pedro Infante, and remains popular for film productions today.
