Los Haitises National Park, National park in Hato Mayor Province, Dominican Republic.

The park features limestone karst formations with conical hills, extensive mangrove forests, and numerous caves spread across 826 square kilometers of protected land.

The area was designated as a national park in 1976, expanding from an initial 208 square kilometers to its current size through a governmental decree in 1996.

Ancient caves within the park contain numerous pictograms and petroglyphs created by the indigenous Taino people who inhabited the region centuries ago.

Most visitors access the park through guided boat tours departing from Sabana de la Mar, Sánchez, or Samaná, as land access requires four-wheel drive vehicles.

The park receives approximately 2,000 millimeters of annual rainfall, supporting subtropical forests and providing habitat for multiple endemic bird and mammal species.
