Bayside Bridge

The Bayside Bridge is a road bridge that connects Clearwater and Largo across approximately 2.7 miles of open water in the northwestern section of Tampa Bay. The structure features six traffic lanes arranged on twin spans to accommodate bi-directional travel.

The bridge opened in 1993 as a result of a funding initiative based on increased gasoline taxes. This project connected two growing communities and modernized the regional transportation network.

The bridge serves as a gathering place for the local community, hosting pedestrian events that bring residents together. People use it to explore their region and connect with one another.

When crossing, be aware that this is a major traffic corridor that can be quite busy during peak hours. Consider traveling during weekends or early morning hours when traffic flows more easily.

The roadway has slight undulations, particularly in the northbound direction, that developed during construction. These surface variations are noticeable to drivers but do not affect safety.
