Courtney Campbell Causeway, Road bridge between Clearwater and Tampa, United States.
Courtney Campbell Causeway is a road bridge crossing Old Tampa Bay between Clearwater and Tampa. The structure carries lanes for vehicle traffic and includes separate paths for cyclists and pedestrians along its length.
The bridge opened in 1934 as Davis Causeway and charged a toll until the federal government took control. The name changed later to honor a local politician.
Two beaches flank the structure, with Ben T. Davis Municipal Beach on the Tampa side and a Florida Department of Transportation beach near Clearwater.
The route forms part of State Road 60 and offers a direct connection without major detours through northern areas. Cyclists and pedestrians use dedicated paths alongside the traffic lanes.
When completed, the causeway held the record as the longest fill construction over open water in the country. Two public beach areas sit directly along the structure and provide access to the bay.
