It was founded in 1983 when local Hindu community members recognized the need for a gathering place to worship together. Construction started in 1994 and took several years as craftspeople carefully completed each section of the building.
The temple celebrates major festivals throughout the year like Shivaratri, Ganesha Chaturthi, Navaratri, and Deepavali that draw worshippers from across the region. Visitors witness traditional rituals and taste vegetarian meals prepared in the temple kitchen during these occasions.
The temple is located north of the airport and is easily accessible by car. Regular prayer services take place throughout the week, and educational programs help visitors learn about the traditions practiced here.
The gateway tower was designed by a traditional South Indian craftsman named Muthiah Sthapathi who used ancient construction techniques. This specialized craftsmanship is rarely seen in America, making the tower a notable example of authentic architecture brought from India.
