Henley Field Ball Park, Sportstätte in den Vereinigten Staaten

Henley Field is a baseball stadium in Lakeland, Florida, built in Mission Revival style with simple arches and a warm color palette. The venue features a modest grandstand with metal bleachers and wooden roof, surrounded by original concrete walls, with seating positioned close to the field for clear views.

The ballpark opened in 1923 as Athletic Field and was later named after Clare Henley, who brought the Detroit Tigers to Lakeland for spring training starting in 1934. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997, marking nearly a century of involvement in local and professional baseball history.

The ballpark is named after Clare 'Doc' Henley, a local pharmacist who championed baseball in Lakeland and helped bring professional teams to the area. Visitors witness how the community continues to gather here to experience the game in its most straightforward form.

The stadium is easily accessible, located near major roads and just a short walk from Florida Southern College campus. Parking is typically on the grass field across the street since on-site parking is limited, and entry to games is open to the community without charge.

The ballpark served as home to the Class-A Lakeland Tigers from 2002 to 2016 while the nearby Joker Marchant Stadium underwent renovation. This role demonstrates how this historic site continues to play a vital part in the area's baseball infrastructure.
