Miami Orange Bowl, Stadium in Miami
The Miami Orange Bowl was an outdoor sports stadium located in Miami, Florida, with seating for tens of thousands of spectators. The facility featured a rectangular playing field surrounded by tiered stands that rose on all sides.
Built in 1937 as Burdine Stadium, the facility was later renamed after the annual football championship it hosted. The venue operated for over 70 years before closing in 2008.
It was famous for hosting the annual Orange Bowl college football game.
The site no longer exists, as the building was demolished in 2008. Visitors can still visit the location where other structures now stand.
The stadium was demolished to make room for Marlins Park, a modern baseball venue. This transformation from a multi-purpose sports facility to a single-sport structure marked a significant shift in how the land was used.
