The temple construction started in June 2011 following its announcement by Thomas S. Monson in 2009, becoming the 143rd temple of the LDS Church.
The temple serves 25,000 members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints across South Florida and includes three sealing rooms for marriages.
Located at 3901 SW 154th Avenue in Davie, Florida, the temple requires appointments for proxy ordinances and provides headsets for visitors with hearing needs.
The temple received the ENR Southeast Best Projects award in the Cultural/Worship category for its construction excellence in 2014.
