ICON at South Beach, Residential skyscraper in South Beach, Miami Beach, US
ICON at South Beach is a residential tower with a curved S-shaped design located at 450 Alton Road in Miami Beach. The 42-story structure houses 289 units with floor plans ranging from one to six bedrooms, with views toward Biscayne Bay and the downtown skyline.
The Related Group of Florida completed this tower in 2005, adding to Miami Beach's evolving skyline during a major development period. Its construction reflected the city's shift toward contemporary residential architecture during the early 2000s.
Philippe Starck brought his design vision throughout the building, from the soaring lobby entrance to residential spaces featuring European design elements. Residents experience this thoughtful approach daily in the proportions and finishes of their homes.
The building is located at 450 Alton Road and is easily accessible by car or public transportation. The surrounding neighborhood is walkable with nearby restaurants, shops, and beach access just a short distance away.
The distinctive S-shaped curve ensures that every unit has water or city views or both, a feature not found in many other high-rise buildings. This curved form was a deliberate design choice to maximize sightlines for all residents.
