The Mennello Museum of American Art

The Mennello Museum of American Art occupies a former private residence next to Lake Formosa and displays paintings and sculptures inside. The building sits within a park setting with water views and green spaces that extend to a nearby sculpture garden.

The museum opened in 1998 following a donation from Marilyn and Michael Mennello of their collection to Orlando. This gift established an institution dedicated to presenting American art from various periods and movements.

The collection centers on Earl Cunningham's paintings and rotating exhibitions featuring American artists from the 20th century onward. You can see how different artistic movements shaped American art across generations.

Admission is free, and the second Sunday of each month features Family Funday with complimentary tours and hands-on art activities. The building occupies a historical house with multiple levels, so visitors should be prepared for stairs and varying floor heights.

The grounds feature a sculpture garden displaying abstract works by Alice Aycock that blend art directly with the natural landscape around Lake Formosa. This outdoor art integration transforms the experience beyond a typical indoor museum visit.
