Cusseta is the county seat of Chattahoochee County in central Georgia. It serves as the administrative hub for the county and sits in an area with deep historical roots from earlier Native American settlements.
The city was established in 1855 and took its name from a Creek settlement that had existed in the surrounding area. The original courthouse was built in 1854 by enslaved African Americans and is now preserved in Westville in Columbus.
