The Smith Family Farm shows how people lived and worked in 1860s Georgia through hands-on demonstrations of everyday tasks and traditional crafts. Visitors can observe the rhythms of domestic life and farming practices from that era as they unfold on the grounds.
The grounds are open Tuesday through Sunday with access to all buildings, exhibitions, and outdoor areas. Plan for at least two to three hours to explore the various buildings and gardens at a comfortable pace.
The center houses one of only two remaining cycloramas in the United States, a restored circular painting over 100 years old depicting Civil War scenes. This rare artwork offers visitors an immersive experience typical of 19th-century entertainment.
