Crypt of Civilization, Time capsule at Oglethorpe University in Brookhaven, United States.

The chamber measures 20 feet long, 10 feet high, and 10 feet wide, with enamel-coated walls and a stainless steel door permanently sealed.

Thornwell Jacobs initiated this project in 1937, drawing inspiration from Egyptian pyramids to create a detailed record of human knowledge spanning 6,000 years.

The repository contains microfilm reels of 800 books, including religious texts, classic literature, and recordings of 1930s leaders like Roosevelt and Hitler.

The National Bureau of Standards provided guidance on construction methods and preservation techniques, using inert gas-filled stainless steel containers for artifact storage.

This sealed vault, scheduled to open in 8113 AD, holds everyday items from the 1930s including mechanical pencils, fountain pens, and electric toasters.
