The Bibb County Courthouse features a Neoclassical design with symmetrical proportions, grand columns, and a prominent central entrance facing Mulberry Street.
Completed in 1924 under architect Curran R. Ellis, this fourth iteration of the Bibb County Courthouse represents the expansion of judicial services in central Georgia.
The courthouse maintains the Superior Court of the Macon Judicial Circuit, which oversees legal proceedings for Bibb, Crawford, and Peach Counties.
Located at 601 Mulberry Street, the courthouse operates weekdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, offering services for civil cases, criminal proceedings, and passport processing.
In 2012, the courthouse received a new designation to honor J. Taylor Phillips, who served as State Court judge for 48 consecutive years.
