The Sydney Goldstein Theater, formerly the Nourse Theater, is a 1,687-seat auditorium at 275 Hayes Street, built in 1926 in the Spanish Revival style as part of the High School of Commerce. It is host to the City Arts & Lectures series, podcast tapings and conversations with writers and cultural figures.

Built in 1926 in the Spanish Revival style as part of the High School of Commerce, it served student assemblies until closing in 1952. It was used intermittently for pageants and concerts until 1985, when it became a courtroom for an asbestos exposure case, one of the first wired courtrooms with computers linked to a mainframe in Texas. It then served as school district storage for nearly 30 years. Sydney Goldstein renovated it in 2013 for City Arts & Lectures, and it was renamed in her honor in 2018.

The venue hosts the City Arts & Lectures series, featuring conversations with writers, scientists, artists, and other notable figures throughout the year. Visitors can experience intimate exchanges with accomplished people from many fields in this setting.
