NEMA, Residential tower in Mid-Market, San Francisco, US

NEMA, also called Tenth and Market, is a 754-unit apartment complex in Mid-Market made of four linked towers from 10 to 37 stories, joined by a nine-story podium along Tenth Street. The 37-story tower stands at Market and Tenth Streets, the 24-story tower at Jessie and Tenth Streets, across from Twitter's headquarters.

Construction began in 2011 following a four-year delay caused by the 2007-2008 financial crisis. The completion of this residential project marked a turning point for the Mid-Market neighborhood during the city's economic recovery.

NEMA's name shortens "New Market", a nod to its Mid-Market address at Tenth and Market Streets. In 2015 the complex sponsored a landscape art installation by Topher Delaney, and in 2016 an interactive project called "Wall of Good Looks" along Market Street. The complex stands across the street from Twitter's corporate headquarters.

NEMA occupies the block where Tenth Street meets Market Street, with the taller tower at that corner and the shorter one at Jessie and Tenth; the two are joined by a nine-story podium along Tenth Street. The entrance is on Tenth Street, and the complex stands directly across Market Street from Twitter's headquarters, so the surrounding sidewalks are busy on weekday mornings.

The structure achieved LEED Silver Certification for its environmentally responsible design approach. This recognition as Best New Development demonstrated how the project set standards for contemporary residential building in the city.
