Spyglass Hill Golf Course, Championship golf course in Pebble Beach, United States
Spyglass Hill Golf Course is a championship layout in Pebble Beach along the California coast. Five holes offer views of the Pacific Ocean while the remaining thirteen wind through the dense Del Monte Forest.
Robert Trent Jones Sr designed the course, which opened in 1966. Since 1967 it has been part of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am tournament.
The holes carry names from Robert Louis Stevenson's novel Treasure Island, including Blind Pew, Black Spot, and Captain Flint. This literary naming connects the game with the storytelling tradition of the California coast and gives each hole its own narrative.
The course stretches 6,960 yards (about 6,400 meters) with a course rating of 75.4 and a slope rating of 145. These ratings indicate that both amateurs and experienced players can expect a demanding round.
Phil Mickelson and Luke Donald share the course record of 62 strokes. Both achieved this result during different rounds of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am tournament.
