Marine World/Africa USA, Animal theme park in Redwood Shores, California, US
The park extended over 66 acres of reclaimed tidelands within San Francisco Bay, featuring marine life shows and animal exhibitions.
Marine World opened in 1968 and merged with Africa USA in 1972, creating a combined entertainment venue that operated until its relocation to Vallejo in 1986.
The facility housed 500 animals from 400 different species, including performers such as Judy the water-skiing elephant and trained orcas for daily shows.
Financial difficulties and rising real estate prices in Silicon Valley led to the park's closure, with the land later becoming office spaces for Oracle Corporation.
The Asian elephant Mardji, who appeared in Star Wars, performed at the park and displayed her movie costume to visitors.
