Superman: Ultimate Flight

Superman: Ultimate Flight is a steel roller coaster at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom that launches riders through a series of twists and inversions at high speed. The track design combines sharp turns with rolling maneuvers to create a fast-paced ride experience.

The ride opened in 2012 as a prototype model built by Premier Rides and was one of the first of its kind. This design became the foundation for similar launched coasters built at other parks.

The Superman theme incorporates elements from DC Comics, featuring the red and blue color scheme throughout the entire coaster structure and queue area.

Riders must meet a minimum height requirement to board, and the coaster carries passengers in separate car sections. Loose items should be secured before boarding, and the queue area can get busy during peak park hours.

The launch system accelerates passengers from a standstill to top speed in just three seconds, making it one of the fastest acceleration experiences at the park. This explosive start is often what riders remember most vividly about the ride.
