Benton Hotel

The Benton Hotel is a seven-story concrete and steel structure containing 120 rooms with high ceilings, intricate cornices, and carefully arranged windows throughout. Renaissance Revival design elements appear in the decorative details of the facade and the thoughtful layout of the interior spaces.

The hotel was initiated in 1924 by members of the local Kiwanis Club, who gathered 167 community members to contribute toward its construction. This community-driven effort demonstrated strong local support for the project during a period of economic growth in the region.

The hotel grew out of Corvallis' need for up-to-date accommodations, showing how the community valued comfort and hospitality during the 1920s. The building became a gathering place for travelers and locals alike, serving as a landmark of the city's growing importance.
