The site was acquired by Portland Parks & Recreation in 1921 and has developed into an important recreation area. It has served the northeast Portland community as a valued gathering place for more than a century.
The park serves as a gathering place where neighbors meet, play, and spend time together throughout the year. It functions as a social hub that brings the surrounding community closer through shared activities and daily use.
The park is located at NE 22nd Avenue and Killingsworth Street and is open from early morning until late at night. Visitors should expect the space to be well-equipped for various activities and may get busy during good weather.
A section beneath Douglas fir trees has been transformed into a forest garden featuring native plants and fallen wood. This Nature Patch demonstrates how natural elements are reused as part of the landscape design.
