German immigrants Jacob and Lena Zimmerman constructed this residence in 1874 as part of their 600-acre dairy farm after traveling the Oregon Trail in 1851.
The house stands as a representation of German American settlement patterns in the Pacific Northwest during the late nineteenth century agricultural expansion.
The Fairview-Rockwood-Wilkes Historical Society opens the house for public tours every third Saturday of the month from 10 AM to 3 PM.
The property transformed from a private residence to the centerpiece of Zimmerman Heritage Farm through a partnership between Gresham city and local historical society.
