Shelton

Shelton is the county seat of Mason County and sits at the western edge of Puget Sound in southwestern Washington. The town spreads across several square miles and grew as a center of timber production and manufacturing.

The area originally belonged to the Squaxin Island Tribe until they ceded it in 1854 through the Treaty of Medicine Creek. The town was officially incorporated in 1890 and grew rapidly as a lumber processing hub in the region.

The lumber mill on Oakland Bay shaped the community's identity for generations, serving as a center of work and daily life. Walking through town, you still see how this industrial heritage influences the way residents think about their home.

The town is easy to navigate, with a straightforward street layout and local services spread throughout the downtown area. Visitors will find shops, restaurants, and public spaces within walking distance, particularly in the central district.

Ridge Motorsports Park has operated as a racing facility since 2012, hosting national motorcycle and car racing events throughout the year. The venue attracts enthusiasts from across the region and has become a destination for motorsports fans.
