TD Tower, International Style skyscraper in Downtown Vancouver, Canada
The TD Tower is an International Style skyscraper with a black glass facade located in Vancouver's downtown business district. It contains 30 floors of office and commercial space that connect directly to the adjacent Pacific Centre shopping complex.
Completed in 1972, this building replaced the former second Hotel Vancouver on the site. The construction marked Toronto-Dominion Bank's significant expansion into western Canada.
The building's dark design contrasts with the adjacent white Nordstrom building, creating a notable architectural composition in Vancouver's urban landscape.
The building connects directly to the Pacific Centre shopping mall, making it easy to explore retail and dining options without going outside. The ground level offers the most accessible entry points, while upper floors house offices that typically require building authorization to visit.
The first tenant, McLaughlin Holburn & Beaudin law firm, moved in January 1972 and continues to occupy the top floors under a new name.
