TD Tower, International Style skyscraper in Downtown Vancouver, Canada
The TD Tower is an International Style skyscraper with a black glass facade in the downtown business district of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The building has 30 floors and connects directly to the Pacific Centre shopping complex through an underground passage.
The building was completed in 1972 on a site that had previously held the second Hotel Vancouver. Its construction marked the Toronto-Dominion Bank's expansion into western Canada.
The dark glass facade of the building stands in direct contrast to the lighter structure next door, making this block one of the more visually distinctive corners of downtown Vancouver. Pedestrians walking along West Georgia Street naturally notice this contrast at street level.
The easiest way to enter is through the ground-floor entrance on West Georgia Street, from which you can also reach Pacific Centre without stepping outside. Upper floors are office space and generally not open to the public.
The first tenant to move in, a law firm that arrived in January 1972, still occupies the top floors today under a different name. That makes it one of the longest-running tenants in any downtown Vancouver office tower.
