Pier 54

Pier 54 is a pier in Seattle located directly on the waterfront that once served as a commercial harbor. Today it houses a popular seafood restaurant called Ivar's, a souvenir shop, and boat docks where vessels remain moored along its edge.

Pier 54 was built around 1900 and initially served as a commercial dock for grain, hay, and building supplies along with steamship service. In the 1930s its purpose began to shift when Ivar Haglund opened an aquarium and seafood restaurant at the location.
