Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park

Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park extends across 92 square kilometers of mountainous terrain, featuring lakes, forests, and interconnected hiking trails throughout the landscape.

The Hudson's Bay Company constructed the first formal trail to Chilliwack River in 1855, building upon an existing path that connected nine Indigenous settlements.

The park received its dual name Sx̱ótsaqel in 2021, reflecting the Halkomelem language term for sacred lake used by the Ts'elxwéyeqw Tribe.

The park maintains 146 camping sites and 40 kilometers of trails, with facilities for swimming, boating, fishing, and a playground for recreational activities.

Flora Lake within the park requires navigation through an advanced trail, making it accessible exclusively to experienced hikers with wilderness navigation skills.
