Memorial Stadium

Memorial Stadium is a sports venue in Bakersfield with two-level concrete and steel structures designed to shield spectators from wind. The facility includes a regulation football field, an athletic track, four locker rooms, and parking for approximately 3,800 vehicles.

The stadium opened in 1955 as the first building on what would become Bakersfield College, arriving before the institution officially established itself. This early construction made it a foundational part of the college's growth and development.

The venue was designed as a memorial to fallen soldiers from both World Wars, a purpose reflected in its name and identity. It has served as the home of Bakersfield College Renegades athletics for generations and remains central to the college's sports identity.

The stadium is located near Panorama Drive with ample parking available on site for easy vehicle access. Visitors should note that the two-level design offers wind protection in some areas, but sun exposure varies depending on where you sit.

In 2017, the stadium was temporarily converted into an outdoor ice hockey arena for a game between the Bakersfield Condors and Ontario Reign. This unusual transformation showed the venue's ability to host different sports beyond football and track events.
