Watchman Campground

Watchman Campground is a camping facility in Zion National Park with 176 sites divided into different sections. There are tent-only areas, RV spots with electrical connections, and group camping spaces situated along the Virgin River.

The site was established in the early phase of Zion National Park's development to accommodate growing visitor numbers. This facility became part of the broader story of how the National Park Service opened outdoor experiences to the public.

The site is named after Watchman Peak, a distinctive rock formation overlooking the valley. Visitors can explore archaeological sites and join ranger programs that reveal the area's history and its earlier inhabitants.

The campground sits near the canyon's entrance and offers convenient access to park facilities and trailheads. It's wise to arrive early in the day when park traffic is lighter.
