Musée Agathois Jules Baudou, Museum in Agde, France
The musée agathois Jules-Baudou is a museum in Agde, France. It occupies a Renaissance building on rue de la Fraternité and holds collections of popular arts, fine arts, and maritime objects.
The museum was created in 1932 from a collection gathered by the Escolo daù Sarret association. It opened in a Renaissance building that had been used for charitable works in the 17th century.
In the museum, you can see the sarret, a lace headdress worn by local women during traditional festivals. The exhibits also show how the people of Agde lived and worked in the past.
The museum is in the historic center, so you can walk there from nearby streets. Allow time to explore its three levels, and consider a guided tour for context.
One display case holds a model sailing ship with three yellow sails, along with a wooden boat and small wooden items. The museum also has Art Nouveau furniture made in 1898 for the Villa Laurens.
