Château des Roches-Baritaud

Château des Roches-Baritaud is a castle in Saint-Germain-de-Prinçay with a central keep, moats, and reinforced ramparts that form its defensive system. A watchtower to the northwest and a fortified gatehouse complete the medieval complex.

The Châteaubriant family owned the castle from the 13th century until 1738, when Count Jean-Antoine Olivier de Senozan purchased it. This change in ownership marked a turning point in the property's history.

The name refers to the rocky terrain that surrounds and defines the castle's setting. Visitors can still observe today how the natural landscape influenced the choice of location.
