George Carter Whitmore Mansion

The three-story mansion features a domed turret, red sandstone foundation, rounded side porch, and decorated with shingles, finials, and carved wooden panels throughout its exterior.

George Carter Whitmore, founder of First National Bank of Nephi and Utah State Senator from 1900 to 1908, built this mansion in 1898 during the town's economic growth.

The mansion incorporates Eastlake and Queen Anne architectural elements, with oak finishes, leaded glass windows, and intricate wood carvings representing late 19th-century design preferences.

Located at 106 South Main Street in Nephi, the mansion stands on the western side of the commercial district, built with materials including eastern tanned bricks.

The front entrance steps display sandstone walls with 'Colonial' and 'Villa' carved into them, leading to doors adorned with glass ovals and detailed wood decorations.
