Fort de Tamié, Military fortification in Mercury, France
The Fort de Tamié stands at 992 meters altitude, featuring a bastioned enclosure that spans 589 meters in length and 240 meters in width.
Built between 1876 and 1881, the fort formed part of the Albertville defense system and could accommodate 400 soldiers with 12 cannons and 6 mortars.
The fort serves as a venue for music festivals, including the Éléments festival which took place in 2008, 2011, and 2012.
Visitors can explore ten aerial adventure courses with nearly 100 different activities suitable for various age groups and skill levels.
The fortress contains underground quarters and storage areas carved directly into the rock, with artillery platforms facing both north and south.
