La Sambuy-Seythenex is a ski resort in the French Alps featuring ten runs across about 10 kilometers of slopes that range from 1150 to 1851 meters in elevation. Five lift systems provide access to different sections of the mountain throughout the terrain.
The resort opened in 1960 with initial lift systems and expanded two years later to meet growing interest in winter sports. This early development established it as a regular destination in the regional skiing landscape.
The resort takes its name from the Pointe de la Sambuy, the mountain on whose slopes it lies. At the foot of the runs, a single building housed two restaurants, La Remontée and L'Avalanche, a sports equipment rental shop and a ski school. Since 2016 the summer season has generated more revenue than winter.
The site is located in the French Alps between roughly 1150 and 1851 meters in elevation, which means snow conditions and weather can vary significantly. Visitors should prepare for changing conditions and check current operating status before traveling.
In October 2025 the company TCP, hired by the commune of Faverges-Seythenex, began dismantling the lifts: the 128 four-seat chairs came off first, then the 3,500-metre cable, then the 19 pylons. The 2013 breakdown had already required helicopter hoisting of about fifty skiers.
