Binjiang Forest Park is a forest and urban park in northern Shanghai, situated where the Huangpu River meets the Yangtze River. It is made up of several distinct areas, including a wetland garden, a rose garden, an orchard, an ecological forest section, and a shoreline viewing area facing the rivers.
The land at the meeting point of the Huangpu and Yangtze rivers was long a remote natural area at the edge of Shanghai. It was developed into a public park to bring accessible green space closer to the expanding city.
Many visitors come early in the morning to walk or do gentle exercises, which is a common habit in Shanghai parks. Families also come on weekends to sit by the paths, watch birds by the small pond, or simply spend time outdoors together.
