Chater Garden

Chater Garden is a public park in the heart of Hong Kong, featuring planted beds, meandering paths, and shaded rest areas for visitors. It sits directly next to the Legislative Council building in the central business district.

The site began as a colonial military parade ground before the Hong Kong Cricket Club used it as sports grounds until 1975. It then opened to the public as a garden, transforming into a shared community space.

The garden serves as a gathering place where people from across the city meet and express themselves through various public events and demonstrations. Visitors encounter a space shaped by everyday interactions and community participation.

The park is easily accessible from multiple public transit connections in the Central district and well-integrated into the surrounding transportation network. The space is fairly compact, so crowds can build during peak times.
