The Museum of Contemporary Native Arts holds around 9,000 artworks created from 1962 onward, making it the only institution in the country focused exclusively on contemporary Native art.
The museum opened in the early 1920s and occupies a building listed on the National Register of Historic Places, showcasing Pueblo Revival Style architecture that reflects the region's heritage.
MoCNA presents exhibitions that address environmental issues, sovereignty, and cultural resilience through the work of Native artists, fostering dialogue about evolving Indigenous identities and contemporary artistic practices.
The museum is located at Cathedral Place in downtown Santa Fe and opens Monday and Wednesday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm.
The institution supports Native artists through acquisitions, residencies, and collaborations, actively working to elevate Indigenous voices within the broader art community and promote research on contemporary Native art.
