Colorado Railroad Museum, Railway museum in Golden, US
The Colorado Railroad Museum contains more than 100 narrow and standard gauge locomotives and cars displayed on 15 acres of grounds.
Founded in 1959, the museum preserves railway equipment, documents, and artifacts from the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad's mountain operations.
The institution maintains educational programs about railroad heritage through guided tours, exhibits, and research facilities for students and historians.
Visitors can access the museum daily from 9 AM to 5 PM, with regular train rides occurring on Saturdays except during November and December.
The museum operates the restored Galloping Goose railcar, a hybrid vehicle that combined a Pierce-Arrow car body with railroad running gear.
