Nottingham Field, Football stadium at University of Northern Colorado, US.
Nottingham Field is a stadium at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado, with a natural grass playing surface and seating along the east side. The venue is used for both American football games and track and field events.
The stadium opened in 1995, replacing the older Jackson Field athletic complex. It was named after Victor R. Nottingham, the main private donor who made the construction possible.
Northern Colorado Bears celebrated consecutive Division II national football championships in 1996 and 1997 during their initial seasons at this venue.
Greeley sits at around 4,600 feet (1,400 m) above sea level, so visitors who are not used to high elevation may feel the difference during outdoor events. Food stands are open on game days inside the stadium.
In 2021, the playing surface was replaced with an IRONTURF hybrid system paid for entirely by donors, without any school budget funds. This type of surface mixes natural grass with synthetic fibers to make the field hold up better through heavy use.
