Rainsford Historic District, Victorian residential district in Cheyenne, United States.
The Rainsford Historic District spans thirty blocks with tree-lined streets, featuring houses with uniform setbacks and continuous vegetation patterns throughout the neighborhood.
During the 1880s, numerous cattle entrepreneurs constructed grand residences in this area, leading to its informal designation as Cattle Baron Row.
The district exhibits various architectural designs including Stick, Italianate, French, Greek Revival, Gothic, and Romanesque styles, representing Victorian period construction methods.
The district covers 192 acres between Warren Avenue and Morrie Street, maintaining its original street layout designed by Union Pacific surveyor Grenville Dodge.
George Rainsford, a New York architect turned Wyoming rancher, designed multiple houses in the district with distinctive roof shapes and ornamental windows.
